I think many people know about the Traveller’s notebook by Japanese design company MIDORI [緑]. I learned about it from mya Shanghai friend in winter, and spent some time trying to know whether it is possible to buy one in Mainland China. But they are not.
Nevertheless, the very friend of mine is about to establish a website, where the Midori, Moleskine and the stuff will be available in PRC. But it is another story.
The Midori’s notebooks at the moment can be purchased in Japan, Hong Kong and the US. In Tokyo they are 3360円 each ($31), in New York $47, and I have no information about HK. Nevermind. Mine notebook will arrive in a week, many many thanks to my friend Nihiru.
But once walking along the Guozijian (国子监) near the Yonghegong Lama temle, I came across the ‘Lost & Found’ shop [失物招领] – a small design, fashion, interior, stationery shop, where Moleskine notebooks and lots of interesting stuff being sold. And there also was a fine imitation of Midori’s notebook, labeled ‘Lost & Found’. 118 RMB for the notebook and 2 extra books for the 15 RMB each.
